Where is the best place to live in canada?

Hi, I want to move to Canada from UK. I need somewhere in the countryside, but within half an hour of a town. I work from home as a writer and homeschool my children, so no worries about jobs or schools, but it would be good to have various things for the kids to do nearby. I don't like beaches, but I love mountains and views. As for climate, we need somewhere it doesn't get too hot/cold because my son gets heat stroke easily. Basically somewhere isolated and beautiful where there are either houses or land available to buy. Thanks guys.
