Luxury home sales in Canada have hit record highs in the first quarter of 2010.  This particularly holds true in the Vancouver, BC housing market, with luxury prices approaching the two million dollar mark.  In fact, the most expensive home sold in the first quarter in all of Canada was in Vancouver.  That home went for ten million dollars and featuring a spacious 11,600 square feet.  The average home price of $800,000 in the same area is up nearly %20 percent from the previous year, with that trend of %20 being extended throughout the majority of the Canadian market.
