West Vancouver? Whats life like there?

I currently live in White Rock. I go to a private school in Vancouver, so I won't be changing schools. My dad, has suggested that we should downsize to a smaller house, he wants to move to West Van. We would be moving into a condo. I know it's expensive, but that's all I really know. I have some friends that are from there, they all love it. So what is West Van, like to live in?

Also are the public high schools good there? My brother would be entering grade eight next year, so he would be going to high school. The schools in White Rock are great, so I hope they would be good there too.

Were planning to spend around 1.5 million, will that get us a nice condo?

Any other info on West Van, would be great.
